American Ambassador in Quba: On one side a synagogue, on the other – a mosque
During his visit to the Red Settlement of the Quba region (Azerbaijan), the U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Earle Litzenberger has made the following statement:
“I’m here today in Quba, visiting the Red Village, and you can see on the right the synagogue of the Red Village and on the other side of the river – you can see the mosque from the city of Quba. So I’m standing in between two communities who have been able to live together in peace for generations, and I think that my visit here today shows the spirit of tolerance that exists here in Azerbaijan and makes Azerbaijan such a special place.”
