Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry States Joint Centre Will Ensure Effective Ceasefire Control

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has welcomed the signing of the memorandum on the establishment of the Joint Russian–Turkish Centre for control over the ceasefire and cessation of all hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, according to ‘Azerbaijan in Focus’, reporting Trend News. The memorandum was signed on November 11, 2020, based on the Joint Statement signed by the Azerbaijani and Russian Presidents and Armenian Prime Minister.

The Foreign Ministry statement read: “We are pleased to note that the Joint Working Group will be established in a short time in connection with the formation and functioning of this Joint Centre, to be located on the territory of Azerbaijan and carrying out control over the ceasefire regime and maintaining the cessation of all hostilities.

“We believe that the activities of the Joint Centre will contribute towards increasing the effectiveness of control over the ceasefire, thus ensuring peace and security in the region.”
