Azerbaijan’s city of Shusha elected as Economic Cooperation Organization’s Tourism Capital for 2026
The 5th ECO Ministerial Meeting on Tourism and the 7th High-Level Expert Group Meeting on Tourism have been held in Ardabil, Iran, on October 4-5, on the sidelines of Azerbaijan’s ECO Chairmanship in 2023, according to Azerbaijan in Focus, reporting AzerTac, citing the press service of the country’s Foreign Ministry.
A delegation of Azerbaijan’s State Tourism Agency represented the country at both events.
The meeting saw broad discussions on prospects for current cooperation in the field of tourism between the ECO member states. It also analyzed the measures to be taken regarding the further enhancement of mutual relations in the relevant field.
Azerbaijan’s city of Shusha was elected as the Tourism Capital of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) for 2026.
The relevant decision was also included in the Ardabil Declaration adopted by ECO.
