EC Allocates an Additional 3 Million Euros to Karabakh Victims
The European Commission has pledged to allocate an additional 3 million Euros to provide humanitarian assistance to Azerbaijani civilians in the liberated Azerbaijani territories. This was stated in the message of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan issued to Turan News, reported by ‘Azerbaijan in Focus’.
The European Commission has previously allocated 900,000 Euros for this purpose.
Janez Lenarčič, European Commissioner for Crisis Management, commented that whilst welcoming the ceasefire agreement, the EU would continue to provide humanitarian assistance to civilians.
He continued: “Despite this, I am concerned about the humanitarian conditions of these various populations that will face difficulties in the winter, as well as the risks of the Coronavirus pandemic.” Mr Lenarčič noted that EU assistance is provided on the basis of neutrality, impartiality and humanitarian principles.
