President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva viewed restoration works progress in Shusha

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have visited a number of ongoing construction and restoration projects conducted in the city of Shusha, according to Azerbaijan in Focus, reporting AzerTac.

They first viewed the construction progress of a new residential complex, where Special Representative of the President in Shusha district Aydin Karimov informed the head of state and the First Lady of the work done.

The construction area covers about 8 hectares. The residential complex will feature 23 buildings. The complex will include a total of 450 apartments.

Then, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva viewed the progress of construction works at the hotel and conference center.

The construction of the hotel and conference center, which occupies an area of more than 3 hectares, started this April. The center will have 154 rooms, a 400-seat conference hall, restaurants, shops and parking lots.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva then proceeded to the Mehmandarovs’ Estate Complex to view the progress of restoration work there.

The estate complex was constructed by representatives of the Mehmandarovs generation in the 18th century.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation started the repair and restoration work in the Mehmandarovs’ estate complex, as well as the family mosque and the spring in the area in October 2021.

While viewing the restoration work, the spring which is included in the Mehmandarovs’ Estate Complex was commissioned.

The restoration work is scheduled to be completed in 2023.

Followed by the visit to the secondary school No1 that is currently being built in the city of Shusha. The construction of the school building, which covers an area of 4,300 square meters, started in October 2021. All conditions will be created in the 960-seat school.
