Russian Defense Ministry Is Forced To Correct “Mistake”, Peacekeepers’ Zone Remains the Same

Amateur activities of the Russian military in Karabakh resulted in the first conflict between Baku and Moscow. The Moscow generals, who decided that they could do what they wanted and solve issues as they pleased, were given a flick on the nose.

After the special operation of the State Security Service and the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry in the Shusha region against the non-disarmed Armenian military, the Russian Defense Ministry decided that they had the right to intervene and take the “peaceful Armenians” under the protection.

Peacekeepers arrived in the area of the villages of Khtsabert and Khin Taglar and decided to “restore order.” At the same time, on the map of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the map of the deployment of peacekeepers “suddenly” was changed and expanded. Thus, these villages and a significant part of the Shusha region also came under their control.

All this amateur performance obviously caused outrage in Baku, where the actions of the Russian military were regarded as a violation of the Statement of November 10 signed by the leaders of the three countries.

The demarche of Baku yielded results and on the night of December 15, the map of the deployment of Russian peacekeepers was returned to its original form.
